Eligibility

To be eligible for the Flippers, swimmers do NOT have to be super strong swimmers! They don't have to be able to do all four strokes (or any of the strokes!). Especially our youngest swimmers often don't, they will learn and develop their swimming throughout the season. They do need to be comfortable in the water, and be able to safely participate in practices as determined at the sole discretion of the coaches. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our swimmers.

If you have concerns about your swimmer's eligibility, please reach out to Coach Lizzie at [email protected].

Swimmers must be 18 years old or younger as of June 1 or be members of the most recent high school graduating class. Fieldstone Farms is allowing a limited number of swimmers that live outside of the neighborhood to join our team (first come, first served!). To qualify, the swimmer needs to reside in the Grassland Middle School or Franklin High School District and not have the opportunity to swim on a neighborhood team of their own. There will be an additional $60 fee per swimmer (collected at registration) that goes to the HOA for guest fees for pool use.  Please note: swim team membership does not include after practice swimming at the FF pool. Please follow the guest policy.

Fees

Registration fees for the upcoming 2025 season are a total of $160 per swimmer. $144 is required to be paid at registration and $16 will be required to be paid directly to Swimmingly when you enroll your child to participate in the meets.

When registering - pay close attention to the instructions, as while you register for Flippers you will be required to click a link that re-directs you to register with Swimmingly and pay $16. Once that is complete, you will need to come back and finish your Flippers registration and pay the remainder. You'll know you are registered for both when you have email confirmations from both Swimmingly and Swimtopia).

Note: All fees include a latex swim team racing cap and a swim team t-shirt for each swimmer (extra t-shirts are $15.00). Silicone cap upgrades can be purchased in place of the latex cap for $8.00. The purchase of the team swim suit is NOT included.

Swimsuit & Gear

Each swimmer receives a t-shirt and a latex cap included with registration. Silicone caps can be ordered in place of the latex cap during registration for an additional $7. Additional t-shirts may be ordered as well.

The team swimsuit, goggles and other gear are the responsibility of each family. Suits can be ordered from our team store which will be linked here when we get it finalized. Every year we have a swimsuit fitting so your swimmer can try on the suits before purchase- if you are new to competition swimsuits, the sizing can be hard to nail down, so check the calendar for dates.

We are using SwimOutlet this year- every swimmer will get a membership with SwimOutlet which provides discounts, and everything will be shipped to you directly without a wait!

Our team store is here.

Team swimsuits are not mandatory, however, highly recommended. Team suits are changed each year, but will always be green and black. If you choose not to purchase a new team suit, we recommend you purchase a racing suit for your child in green and black. Past year suits are also a good idea (ask your neighbors!). Swimmers are required to wear team caps during their races at meets. Swimmers also need high quality goggles.

Parental Responsibilities

Please remember that when you sign up for a job at a meet, we are counting on you.

Anyone can volunteer- grandparents, other family members, neighbors, the teenager down the street that needs volunteer hours, etc.  You will be responsible to find a substitute if you find you cannot fulfill your obligation.

See this page for more info.

Meet Participation

We usually have 1 intrasquad and 3 dual meets, one per week in June, and the WCSL championship the weekend following the last meet (in 2026, the county championship is June 26 & 27). Swimmers are not required to swim in any of our meets, but we encourage you to participate in as many as you can!

Swimmers are required by the WCSL to swim in at least 2 dual meets in order to participate in the WCSL Championship Meet, and a swimmer may only compete at County in events in which they competed during the season.

The swimmer's age on June 1 determines their competitive age group for the remainder of the season.
